Where is the In Memoriam list?
Go to Connect with Classmates page. Click on the link below DECEASED.
What's the dress code for the
Saturday party?
The attire is honestly whatever you're comfortable in.
We expect a range from jeans & Hawaiian shirts to suits
for the guys, from jeans and tank tops to 'party dresses'
for the gals, but most will probably be somewhere in between.
I bought tickets for the Saturday
dinner dance. Will they be mailed out or do I pick them
up at the event?
You will be on the "pre-paid" list at the door.
If I buy my tickets online, is
this a secure site?
Yes, it is definitely a secure site! When you
fill in the credit card information, you are actually doing
so through the secure server of our eCommerce provider,
PayJunction. This is not obvious to the user, as the PayJunction
page is inside a frame on the page on our website. Like
all merchant accounts, PayJunction uses Secure Socket Layer
encryption to transfer sensitive information over the internet.
If you'd like more information on the technical details
of our eCommerce security, please contact our webmaster.
Do you have to be a member of the Class of 68 to attend the Saturday night main event or
other events?
Everyone is welcome! There will be people attending from other
classes and people who attended Gunn (or Terman) with this
class at some point but who moved or transferred and graduated
elsewhere. Friends, spouses, partners, parents and teachers--all
are welcome!
When will there be more information about other reunion events?
We are depending on class volunteers to plan the details
for the class events and will email updated information
to all alumni for whom we have contact information as soon as
it is available. For now, please reserve time for the reunion
from Friday thru Sunday afternoon, and be sure to buy
tickets for Saturday night ASAP!
Will there be a special room price at the Crowne Plaza
Cabaña?
The Cabaña is holding a small block of rooms for Gunn
reunion attendees for Thursday, October 9th through Monday, October
13th. A special discounted rate is available on a first-come
first-served basis, so we recommend calling them ASAP to reserve
(650-628-0127; mention "Gunn Reunion, October 11, 2008").
What other hotels or alternatives are available?
Here's are links to a few websites with lots of lodging
options in the area. In case you want to search by proximity
to the Saturday main event, the Crowne Plaza Cabaña Palo Alto
is at 4290 El Camino Real, Palo Alto 94306. Many of these sites
allow you to sort by price and/or rating:
| www.paloaltoonline.com/lodging/ www.hotels.com www.cheaphotel.com www.tripadvisor.com www.hotelscheap.org |
RESERVE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE because there are many Stanford events scheduled in Palo Alto for that weekend. If you have any suggestions or recommendations, please let us know!
What is the SATURDAY party/dinner/dance charge going to pay for?
Most of the ticket price is for facilities rental and
dinner; the rest will cover event planning, limited postage,
website services, and credit card processing fees.
Costs are based on an estimated attendance of 150. Committee
volunteers have lent their own money to make deposits and
get the process started. They hope to be reimbursed! Any
money collected over and above our actual out-of-pocket
costs will be donated to a Gunn memorial.
What if we only want to attend the Sunday brunch?
That's fine. Attend as many or as few of the reunion
events as you want. Nominal fees or donations may be requested
on site for other events. If you don't plan to attend the Saturday
event but still want to make a donation to help out the reunion
efforts, please go to the Buy Tickets page
and click on "make a donation."
